This policy explains what personal information Camden Tree Lopping collects through the website camdentreelopping.com.au, why we collect it, and who we pass it on to.
We are a small Australian service-area business and a referral website. Some small businesses are not strictly bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), but we handle your information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles regardless, because it is the sensible way to do it.

What we collect
We only collect what we need to get a tree quote organised for you. That is normally:
- your name;
- your phone number and, if you give one, your email address;
- the address or suburb of the property where the tree work is needed;
- what you have told us about the job — the tree, the access, photos if you send them, and when you would like someone to look at it.
If you phone us on (02) 4602 1480 we collect the same sort of information verbally.
We do not ask for and do not want your bank details, credit card numbers, government identifiers, or any sensitive information such as health or membership details. Please do not send them through this website.
Why we collect it
Your details are used to:
- contact you back about your enquiry;
- pass the job to a local tree contractor so they can arrange a time and give you a quote;
- follow up if we have not been able to reach you; and
- keep basic records of enquiries received.
That is the whole list. We do not sell your information, and we do not add you to a marketing list without you asking for it.
Who we share it with
This is a referral website, so sharing your details with a tree contractor is the point of the service. When you enquire, your name, contact details and job description are passed to one or more independent local tree businesses so they can quote and carry out the work. Those businesses are separate operations and handle your information under their own privacy practices, not ours. Beyond that, your information may be handled by:
- the form and messaging platform that runs our enquiry form and stores submissions;
- our website hosting provider, which stores the site and its logs; and
- anyone we are required by law to disclose it to, such as a court, regulator or law enforcement agency.
Some of these providers store or process data on servers outside Australia. By submitting an enquiry you accept that your information may be handled overseas by those service providers.
Website analytics and cookies
The site may use standard web analytics to understand how many people visit and which pages they read. This collects aggregate technical information — pages viewed, approximate location, browser and device type, referring site — and is not used to identify you personally. Your browser can be set to block or delete cookies; the site will still work.
Keeping it secure
Enquiry data is held in the systems described above, which use industry-standard access controls and encryption in transit. No transmission over the internet is ever completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you have given us and we do not keep enquiry records longer than we have a genuine reason to.
Seeing or correcting your information
You can ask us at any time what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, or ask us to delete it. Ring (02) 4602 1480 and tell us what you want done. We will action reasonable requests without charge, and if we cannot do what you have asked, we will tell you why.
Note that once your enquiry has been passed to a tree contractor, that business holds its own copy of your details and you will need to contact them directly about their records.
Complaints
If you think your privacy has been mishandled, contact us first on (02) 4602 1480 so we have a chance to sort it out. If you are not satisfied with how we respond, you can take the matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
